a visit with Santa...

Today was a fun day, Linda - our chapter leader - arranged a time for all the Maine service puppies to have their pictures taken with Santa. We met at Cabela's to see Santa and do some "store" work. It was pretty busy with Christmas being so close and the puppies got a lot of attention from both the employees and the shoppers....

All the dogs did well with Ol St. Nick... I keep calling them "puppies", but really they are quite grown up now. We have received the official work, and Leo, Ginger and Loyalty (T) will all be returning to NEADS the first week of the new year. Christmas will be bittersweet.....

Not only is this a fun opportunity, but good training as well. Service dogs often come across costumed people, and it's good to know that they are not frightened or upset by them. These guys all gave Santa and the Mrs. happy greetings.

Then we had Linda pose with all her puppies. She has been the Maine Chapter leader for 18 years, so she has seen many puppies go threw the program.......

Just as the puppies were finishing up with Santa, we heard a familiar voice and turned to see Dave and Sean!!! They were doing a bit of shopping at Cabela's... we talked Dave into "visiting with Santa" too.....

Next week is Christmas.... I have a feeling the week will fly by.....
