So, Ed and Ken got a good jump on the new deck yesterday and today. This is the fussy work, where you need to be certain everything is plum and straight. Since we put the footings in for the deck when we built... it was a bit of a "guessiment" as to where everything was going to line up. I am so happy to have these footings covered now, I always had a bit of a worry that the dogs -when there was snow on the ground- would run their feet into them, this year, we don't have that worry!!!
And.... it's going to be so nice to open these doors and not have that 8 foot drop. That was another worry, when Abi was little and lived here....I was always checking to make sure the door was locked, and often kept something in front of it.... she never fussed with it. But now little Reagan sometimes checks it out... so I'll be happy not to have to think about that...
and I think the back of the house is going to look so much nicer with it on...
The work seems slow to me, but the guys are really moving along well..... both of them are very "fussy" to get it all right...
at the end of the day.. good progress has been made... and I'm hoping we'll enjoy sometime out there this summer!!!!
