Ground hog's day....

I'm not one bit surprised that the ground hog did not see his shadow this morning and it has been proclaimed that we are in for an early spring. The temps have been in the high 30s to low 40's and it feels more like the end of March than the first of February!!! I don't know if I like it or not, while I do enjoy the mild weather, there is some what of a feeling cheated that we haven't had a good old fashion winter. And the fact that my "hand work projects" need cold winter days to be done... doesn't help. But since I have no control of either.... I guess we just enjoy what comes and take it from there.. and that all beginning said.. they're talking snow within the week........
Logan has been turning out to be such a nice puppy.. and so much of her reminds me of my dear Debbie dog..... she is smart and fun, and I just know she'll turn out to do something grand. She and Livy ... and Henry are such good friends, and when they are all together... "trouble" abounds....
Actually, Henry is the trouble maker... he just loves to stir things up whether it be with the dogs, or the other cats. Darci and he have an understanding, but Mona does not have any patience with him at all.

One of my greatest days this past week, though was on Sunday. My dear friend Kym and her hubby Jeff came to the farm for lunch. Kym and I became friends back in middle school and we were chums all threw high school and even afterwards. When we became Moms and raising busy families, we lost touch... and all last fall, she kept coming to my mind.

Now, there are many things that one must watch with regards to the Internet, but there are many wonderful things it can also add to life. So, with the last of the information I had on my pal.. I did a bit of computer research and came up with where she was now. Taking a chance, I called and wouldn't you know... we found each other. We have been talking off and on over the late fall and the early winter, and made plans to meet up again.

and so we did.... the best part is, we are not too far away that we can't stay easily in touch and have dinners and the like together, and it is something I certainly plan to do. I have actually been very blessed that I have kept touch with many "old" friends... either just knowing where they are and can easily reach out to them, or finding them and reconnecting.. but however it works.. it has to be one of the greatest joys of my life.....
