a new plate for the state of maine

rescue workers in the State of Maine are working on a new licence plate for the state. proceeds of this plate will go to the welfare of animals ....
2000 plates must be pre-ordered to make this actually happen.... you can order them off line via Plant Dog email address is adoptteam@planetdog.com or just go to the Planet dog website and :they" will tell you all about it. the price for the plate is just 25.00...
so, all my "Maine" blog readers, please consider this... not only will it help our "rescues"... but it's a pretty cool looking plate.....

ah.... camp

I am sure that you have heard the saying.... "if you want the most comfortable seat in the house, move the dog!!" well, I don't think that the couch is the MOST comfortable seat in the house, but Trevor sure has found his spot!!! Actually, the dogs are always "so busy" at camp, that when they come inside, they are happy to crash. Nothing like the good behavior of a tired dog!!!!

Despite the warnings of today being rainy and messy, Ed was up bright and early to head out for the NASCAR race. Now, usually I have "girls day" at the camp when Ed heads to the races, but this year, it just got by me somehow. One thing is the race came earlier in the summer than it has in the past and the other is, we have been working so hard, that I tend to lose track of the days.

Either way, I had planned on getting some shopping done and dropping in on my friend, Aileen... but, when the sun broke out and I had the chance to get some outside work done around here... I changed plans as well... (sorry Aileen... I owe you a visit!!!)

I have been told that Loons are "fussy" birds and will only chose to live on lakes that are very clean. I was also told that most small ponds will only have one pair of loons ..well, I would like to know what's going on here....

This morning, I saw 6 loons out "fishing" in front of the camp. They hung around for the longest time, and I wished I had a better lens on my camera... they are so beautiful.

I could easily hear them calling back and forth to each other... I just love the songs that they sing (Kassy doesn't... she is "afraid" of them!!!) but, there's nothing like a warm summer night on the lake with the loons singing you to sleep...

Hey.. maybe that's Trevor's "problem".... the loons have sung him to sleep.
