Livy loves college.....

Our pet therapy visits take Livy and I to all sorts of different places... which is one of the reasons why I enjoy doing them so much. Today we were at the UNH college... it was "well being day"... an event that is done mostly for the the freshmen, but all kinds of students were there. It was nice, and it gives the kids a chance to see what there is at the school in case they're having trouble settling in, or just different adventures they can do now that they are there. It was such a pretty day and we took a little time to walk about the campus

Since the event was the better part of the day.. the dogs did it in shifts... so there were already some students talking with the other dogs when we arrived.... but it didn't take Livy long to worm her way into the crowd...

Tillie was ending her shift and she looked like she was ready to go. You don't realize that it's a lot of work for the dogs to handle so much attention and after a while they do get "petted out"....

Livy likes to ham it up for the people...she had her picture taken hundreds of times, and so many of the kids made the comment... "I miss my dog so much, this is just what I needed to do today"

Snuggles for everyone.....

Livy's partner was a guy named Buddy.. this was his first official visit, but he did absolutely great as well.. (golden are shoo in as therapy dogs)... it was a fun event, and later in the year we'll go back for the "study buddy" event.. where the dogs go back during exam week and give the kids a chance to snuggle with them while they study...

When we got back from therapy dog... Miss Abi came to the farm!!! She has tomorrow off from school, so I took advantage of that and snagged her for an overnight!!! She is so busy with school and all the other things she does, that I don't get to see her very often right now. She was so happy to come to farm, and right away wanted to go to the barn and see "everyone"....

I made some comment about the milkweed, but she didn't know what I was talking about... so, we pulled a couple of the pods and played with them....

but what she really wanted to do was get Mocha out.. she wanted to get her all brushed up and then I suggested we take a walk around the farm.... both were pretty happy with that idea...

Abi likes to stop and see Kringle's grave when she can, and since it was on the walk, both she and Mocha stopped a minute. I'm not sure if Abi really remembers Kringle or the fact that he passed, but either way, she thinks of him often

Mocha liked the attention.. a good brushing, some grass (which is getting rare this time of year) and a bit of one on one time... course.. Baby was pretty happy to have this time together too.....
