celebrating baby Kelsey....
It won't be much longer before we get to meet baby Kelsey for real. In the meantime, its time to celebrate and get ready for her arrival in November. Since it's been so long that Sadie has had a little one, she was in need of some "supplies" and the family was asking what she might need. So, we decided to have a little family baby shower (which is just one of many that Sadie is planned to have) but I thought it would be nice to have a small one just from us.
The table is set once again for a party and fun... I love it when it looks like this!!!!
Everyone arrives... the deck is put into good use (and Cal can now handle the step from the house to the deck.) It's going to be so much fun to have a baby around again.. the boys are getting so big!!!
The guests of honor... Abi is very excited about having a little sister and of course wants to be included in all the things yet to come........
cousins Julie and Cal... Aunt Doreen and Meme.....
Friends Belinda.. Kathleen and Denise.....
Kelsey and Julie....
and all the wonderful gifts... I think everyone is very excited because there is so much here......
It took a little time to get threw it all... Abi was a great helper and had fun telling her Mom what each gift was used for..... (she's going to be a little Mother for sure!!!)
Time for cake and goodies........
visiting together and enjoying everyone's company. Special times like these are cherished for sure......
And my little old Trevor dog..... just because he's here and I love him...
but looking forward to Miss Kelsey!!!!!!! it will be fast and slow all at the same time.......

Sweet 16
Well, he did it!!! Happy happy birthday to our Trevor dog... officially Sweet 16!!! I haven't been too sure how long he would "go" without Hunter (his brother).. but it's been over a year. I'd say, Trev is doing very well. He doesn't hear anymore, can't see all that well... he does have accidents in the house if I don't watch closely... but over all, he's in good shape and seems to enjoy life. He does sleep a lot, but once he's outside, he pokes around the yard and gets a feel for what's going on. I suppose if I live as long as he has, and can manage this well.. then life will be good.
Cole dog made it to his 17th birthday and there's a good chance this sweet boy will too... but, I just enjoy each day that he is here with us, and take care of him like the old guy that he is...
Happy birthday Trevor .... we love you!!!!

a walk in the park.
This wonderful boy is Oberon.. a 16 month old Irish Wolfhound, and most happily, one of my clients. What a great puppy he is, and aside from his size, one of the most gentle beasts one would ever want to meet. I have been helping his people with "walk polite".. because this big boy, without even knowing, does pull.. and goodness is he strong. With a bit of "equipment change" , things have been going well. Today, Obie was going to be in a charitable walk, but his people were a little concerned as to how he might behave.. so they asked if I might come along and help out if needed. I thought the walk sounded fun, and I was happy to help them out, so the little brown dog and I joined the fun.
Oh, this little brown dog of mine... she certainly knows who she is, and there is very little that she is intimidated by.. including very large puppies. Obie knows this well, and he is very respectful anytime he is around her .... They are really pretty funny together, and many people on the walk made a comment about that...
"don't even look at me".. she tells him
and he doesn't......
I would like his people to bring him to the farm sometime.... I know that he's bigger than Mocha and more times than not, when I work with him... I treat him much like Mocha. It was a beautiful fall day.. the walk was fun and there was a pretty good turn out. The donations all went to the local food pantry, which made it even better.....
I still have some up coming lessons with this big boy, but as you can tell from the smile...
I am looking forward to it...
not so sure what the little brown dog thinks......

a visit with Noah
It's a great thing when you can make someone's bucket list come true.
When Noah was here on his last visit, he made a comment to us that one day he would like to go out on the ocean. Ed and I said, "we can easily make that happen... we'll contact
Gardner and ask him to take you out on his lobster boat". Well, to say Noah was thrilled with the idea that he could go out on the ocean was more than you could imagine. So, we told him once the summer came and the weather was good, and he could come down, we would arrange it.... And it happened today.
I met Noah at the train last night,. he came to the farm and we had a nice evening together visiting and talking about the summer and the families and such. But he and Ed couldn't stay up too late because Gardner leaves the dock at 4:00 am., which meant that they had to leave the farm by 3:00 am. But, they were both up and gone first thing.
Gardner is fishing off Boon Island this time of year, so that's where they headed. I thought this was so great, because we had told Noah about Boon (and the book) and he seemed facinated with it. Ed said the weather and the ocean were absolutley perfect, and they couldn't have choosen a better day to go.
Now, the Amish are very strict about picture taking, but Noah told Ed as long as a photo "didn't show too much", he would be OK with Ed taking some pictures. And he even asked that I send him some copies as long as they are in keeping with their "rules"..
Gardner has a good sized boat, but Ed said, he just stayed in the wheel house that way Noah could see everything that Gardener was doing. Noah really enjoyed watching Gardner at work..he asked a lot of questions and was so interested in what lobstering is all about.
Gardner had a good day and caught about 400 pounds. And to top it off..ed said they saw lotsof of seals and even agood couple of whales. I don't think it could have been any better...
He headed back for home later today, we were hoping he might stay another night and have lobster with us. But he really can't and doesn't like to leave his family and farm too long. Besides...he took 22 lobsters backto home for his family to enjoy,
I'm hoping we can make a visit to his farm before the snow....I love being there, in the meantime...today will hold a special memory for us all...

Noah really enjoyed his day at sea. He said too that he's always curious about different things...he said that when he had eaten lobster before he had wondered " what does it take to get this lobster here in front of me".. He says he often thinks that way with many things, I just said...well you know about lobsters now.
He headed back for home later today, we were hoping he might stay another night and have lobster with us. But he really can't and doesn't like to leave his family and farm too long. Besides...he took 22 lobsters backto home for his family to enjoy,
